• Atman

The Atman or Atma (IAST: Ātmā, sanskrit: आत्म‍ ) is a philosophical term used within Hinduism and Vedanta to identify the soul. It is one's true self (hence generally translated into English as 'Self') beyond identification with the phenomenal reality of worldly existence.

crazyness in the land of “what was i thinking?”

    By heather | August 21, 2007

Today I made a potentially stupid and crazy decision. If it works it will be brilliant, but if it goes bad, oh, it will be SOOOOO bad.

In two weeks, Alex and I are going to NY for my best friend’s baby shower. Since it’s a 10 hour drive, I thought I would check into flights. Not seriously as in “We’re going to fly” but just to see. Because usually flights that I want are way beyond what I am willing to spend.

But this time…BEHOLD! A cheap flight round trip for $260! And not just at 5:30 in the morning – at normal times! From the airport 5 minutes away! Before I hit the purchase button, I stared at the screen for a long, long time.

I made Brett get off the phone to discuss it again with me. I pictured myself changing a poopy diaper in an airplane bathroom and stinking up the entire plane.

I pictured Alex crawling along the airport floor (UGH) while I struggle and juggle our bags. Pictured us sitting on the runway delayed for eternity while a bitchy 20-something (like myself not so long ago) gives us dirty looks. Pictured us in our shared seat sitting next to a 400 pound sweaty businessman with greasy strands of hair and a wheeze. And yet I purchased it anyway.

What the $%*! was I thinking?!?
