    the most wonderful time of the year

    It’s my second favorite holiday! Let’s get something straight though, I do not like Halloween for the blood and guts aspect or the chance to showcase my "dark side". I like it for the goofy bats with buck teeth fangs, and sweet looking black kitty cats. I like it for the purple and orange CUTESY aspect. I wander around the children’s costume aisle in the party store and stay away from the aisle with ugly masks. As I get older and since I became a mom, I am closer than ever to becoming my mom who still dislikes Walt Disney for killing Bambi’s mother and has a hard time with The Lion King.

    In many, many ways I am a girly-girl of the worst kind. I am not bothered by this. Because LOOK! The results of the crazed mother Halloween costume contest are in!

    And by a landslide, the winner is…

    Skunk-da-fied!!

    And as further evidence of celebration, our super awesome pumpkins…

    This is about as scary as I get. Note the glop of pumpkin guts on the floor. And the pants. And the lighter just laying there. We are masters of child-proofing.
