things i’ve learned while moving the blog
By heather | February 13, 2008
- I know waaay less than I think I do about coding.
- As my parents used to say, sometimes I just don’t think before I do things. Like change the password to one part of the database effectively locking myself out of changing it in the blog admin section, and blowing up the site.
- Since I work with computers, it’s a damn good thing this site is more anonymous, lest any current or future employers read about my technological mis-adventures.
- I read a LOT of blogs - see ridiculously long blogroll over there. It’s almost embarrassing. Also I lurk, so if anyone is surprised to see thier blog over there, hi! I love you! I will comment eventually. Promise.
- I thought I would have a really hard time letting go of the old site, and that I would go visit it just to say hi once in a while because I loved the color scheme and stuff. I guess breakups really are better if you do it quickly because I feel I have some closure now.
- Oy. Broken links abound as I migrate entries. If you see one, please let me know. Linking back to yourself is a bad idea if you plan to ever move your site.
