• Atman

The Atman or Atma (IAST: Ātmā, sanskrit: आत्म‍ ) is a philosophical term used within Hinduism and Vedanta to identify the soul. It is one's true self (hence generally translated into English as 'Self') beyond identification with the phenomenal reality of worldly existence.

    my post meme

    By heather | February 19, 2008

Miss tagged me for a meme where I will to link to my five favorite posts.

This is great because it will force me to finish mostly finish migrating the old blog, or at least my favorite entries from the old blog.  In our family we like to start things, but they don’t often get finished, unless by finished you mean good enough so that from a distance it looks done.  Har.

(After two-hours of combing through and migrating old posts, my God I’ve written some cringe-worthy stuff:  bad.  Also some stuff that made me cry all over again:  good.)

    Anyway…

    It’s the My Post Meme!

    **The Rules**
Post about the meme and link back to the person who tagged you.  (Thanks Miss!  She’s right, I usually do need blog fodder.)

Go back through your archives and link to your five favorite posts.

*Link One: must be about family.
*Link Two: must be about friends
*Link Three: must be about yourself
*Link Four: must be about something you love
*Link Five: can be anything you choose.

Tag 5 other people (2 being people you would like to get to know better)

Here are my favorite posts about:

Family:  I had a hard time finding one I loved for this category.  This entry was one of my first blog entries ever.

Friends:  I wrote this entry the day after I quit my job.  While quitting jobs is not new to me, writing this entry brought home how much life had changed since I started working there.

Myself:  Eek.  I’ve had more freak-outs here than I care to count.  This one is fairly recent and isn’t Chicken-Little-the-sky-is-falling-esque.

Love:  I never published this post originally, even though I spent hours writing it.  I wrote it for Alex’s first birthday, and once his birthday came it just seemed too overwhelming.  Because his birthday was FUN!  And this post was, well, a little weepy and sugary.  It comes with a warning label.

Grab bag:  I shop a lot.  At least I used to before I was pregnant and now can’t buy cute clothes.  Things always seem to happen to me when I shop.  This post and this post are two of my favorites about my hobby that isn’t.

Now, to the following bloggers:  tag you’re it.  Unless you don’t really want to be because you know, like sorry and stuff, you don’t have to do it because I’m a lurker but I really like you and would get a little giddy thrill if you’d do it.

NotSoSAHM - Vicki just started blogging but puts me to shame with her regular postings.  Also her oldest daughter was the first kid I ever met that I couldn’t get enought of.

    Rimarama - Because I think she’s hilarious.

KC at Where’s My Cape? - I recently found her blog and I love her version upgrade posts.

YogaMum who I totally have no right to tag because I just left my very first comment on her site, not only de-lurking but telling her I tagged her.  I should be banned from blog world but I would love to read her favorite posts.

Jen because I would like to get to know her better.  I started reading her blog just a few weeks ago when I stumbled on a post that really touched me.  Also, we have differing political views, so I’d like to see her favorite posts.

Hey, Heather! Thanks for tagging me. I’m always thrilled to be tagged, even though I rarely ever get around to doing the actual meme (although this one looks like I might be able to handle it.)

hey you, i am not usually a tag person, but i’ll see what i can do – because i feel the same way and in return, i’m wondering if you could write a political post about what you believe, so i can learn from you.
