• Atman

The Atman or Atma (IAST: Ātmā, sanskrit: आत्म‍ ) is a philosophical term used within Hinduism and Vedanta to identify the soul. It is one's true self (hence generally translated into English as 'Self') beyond identification with the phenomenal reality of worldly existence.

    who lives here?

    By heather | June 18, 2008

Home improvement progress is being made.

I am happy to report that we no longer have any fish stenciled on any walls in our house - trout or otherwise.  May they rest in peace under their layers of primer and new neutral colors.

Damn, those previous owners loved them some stencils…

The guest room doesn’t look like this anymore.

My lilac and green crib bedding came yesterday and I am TOTALLY IN LOOOOOVE with it.

Before you laugh at me, I only got the bedding so the room is not nearly as spastic as shown here.  Focus on the quilt, people, the quilt…

(Now I just need a crib to put it in, which should arrive ANY DAY NOW HA HA.)

I can actually walk into our master bathroom and not despise it for it’s ugliness.

There is no woodwork in our house that is any color other than white or natural wood.  Previous colors included teal, blue, tan, lime, PINK, and a sickly off-white.

Soon, all the relic MDF furniture from my college days will be gone and in it’s place will be furniture that screams thirty-something.

All our mattresses live on bed frames.  With headboards

I’ll post pretty pictures as soon as I’m done hanging pictures and arranging.  And by arranging, I mean directing Brett to relocate the dresser 10 times until I’m satisfied with the placement.

I feel like I stumbled into someone else’s house.  It’s awesome.

I’m going to miss the fish…but I’m sure the new paint job looks just as nice.

Can’t wait to see everything pulled together!

Oh, and I love the photo of how you look now. Very appropriate, I’m sure :)

Yay! That’s awesome. I swear, I’ve seen more tackiness in the past four months of home shopping than I ever knew existed. And you are right - people lurve them some stencils.

P.S. The V-meister’s nursery was lilac and green, too! I think that color combo totally rocks for a girl.

Thanks for dropping by my blog, too. I’m no expert, but if I can be of any help or support, please just shout :)

That is the same bedding set I was going to get if Andrew had been a girl….great minds think alike. I can’t wait to see pics. No more teal, I loved the teal on all the windows…I am kidding.

Whoa, is that some major nesting going on or what? Impressive.

You’re aren’t the least bit sorry to see those stencils go? I mean those cute widdle trouts are gone to trout heaven? That was some serious crafting gone wrong there. RIP.
