• Atman

The Atman or Atma (IAST: Ātmā, sanskrit: आत्म‍ ) is a philosophical term used within Hinduism and Vedanta to identify the soul. It is one's true self (hence generally translated into English as 'Self') beyond identification with the phenomenal reality of worldly existence.

    the naming convention

    By heather | July 15, 2008

Baby girl is taking her sweet time getting here.

(And keeping me up at night – do you see what time I’m posting this?   4am?  I had to take a field trip to the kitchen because I was STARVING.)

But!  Maybe she’s been waiting for this:

    Swistle Names Our Baby

That’s right, I called in reinforcements.  The lovely Swistle, who also writes here, has this fun baby name blog where you can see our plea of desperation, check out our name candidates, and vote!

I’m due like any minute now so go!  Hurry!

(Disclaimer:  I actually have a couple weeks until my due date, but I. AM. VERY. IMPATIENT.  And also, according to the doctor “progressing nicely” in my labor preparedness and probably won’t make it until then.  Yippee!)

I commented over on the other blog. I guess I should have put that here.

Have you guys tried calling Baby E each name in the running for a day? Plenty of ours were omitted when we did that.

I like them all, had some of those picked out for Andrew if he was a girl. But I love the name Kate, what about Kate Elizabeth. Emily Kate, I like too. My other faves are Cara and Lauren. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those. Maybe have a few of your favorites picked out and see what name she looks like.

You have such a good list, I can see why it’s hard to choose just one!

Please don’t have the baby on Saturday. I really want to share wedding cake with you.

Other than that, I stil love Madilyn and Cara (sounding like Kara).
