    The Atman or Atma (IAST: Ātmā, sanskrit: आत्म‍ ) is a philosophical term used within Hinduism and Vedanta to identify the soul. It is one's true self (hence generally translated into English as 'Self') beyond identification with the phenomenal reality of worldly existence.

    things heard on Heather’s First Day As A SAHM

    Wow, it’s 11:30 and I still haven’t managed to brush my teeth.  (Said out loud to no one in particular)

    Alex, since when can you open the baby shampoo?  Do you think it would be better to wipe it up with a wet or dry paper towel?  (Answer - not wet)

    Ow!  You just bit me!  No biting!  (Directed again at Alex, who bit me in the ass, while I was doing a down dog attempting to get some abdominal strength back)

    Alex, stop climbing on the window/pulling the blinds/etc, etc.  (Unfortunately, when Mommy is attached to the pump there is a distict lack of urgency on Alex’s part to comply)

    Get out of here you f*c%ing hairy beast! (Directed at the cat, after she used the litter box then raced across the playroom almost stepping on EK with her dirty, nasty paws.  One day I’ll write about our adverserial relationship and why I hate the cat)

    Please, please come home in time for me to go to yoga.  (Begging Brett, who did and it was great)

    Are you kidding me?  Do you have any idea what my day was like today?  Do you think I have time to sit in front of the TV?  (In response to Brett, who was fantasizing about all the HD channels that are going to carry every Olympic event, that I will, in theory, be able to watch as I lounge on the couch eating ice cream and painting my toenails)

      This sounds like one of my days, minus the pumping. Are you sure Alex isn’t Ashlyn dressed as a boy? Those antics are things she’d do in a heartbeat. So, is the SAHM title a permanent change?
