Total stranger here.

I think the little sweet/proteiny snack people are suggesting might be the secret. For both mom and baby.

A small bowl of ice cream for you and a little innocuous oatie/rice formula for the kid.

Can it be allergenic? Hell. How would I know?

Good luck and congratulations.

My daughter didn't start sleeping through the night until about 7 months. We put up with it until about then and then we used the Ferber method. It worked after about 1 week.

I am so jealous of honeybell. grrr. My kid finally slept through the night at 5 1/2 months and only after we did some CIO. I followed the Ferber/Weisbluth thing. He probably was ready at 4 or so months but I was chicken. Will not be chicken with next child.

I think Andrew was about 9-10 weeks. He slept from 10-5 or 6, so that was sleeping through the night for me. I used to give him a little bit of gerber baby oatmeal in his bedtime bottle and that worked pretty good. He also was colicky from 6 weeks to 3 months and was up all night long sometimes. I think it really depends on the baby, but if her tummy can handle it, try some oatmeal.

I am about to be a terrible nurse and advice giver. But here goes.

Both of my boys slept through the night from the time I brought them home. They were both breast fed (and ravenous eaters), except for a "night night" bottle of formula mixed with rice cereal. About the consistency of honey.

Most doctors and reasonable people will tell you horrible this is. But my boys slept through the night from day one, and have had no ill effects from it.
