• Atman

The Atman or Atma (IAST: Ātmā, sanskrit: आत्म‍ ) is a philosophical term used within Hinduism and Vedanta to identify the soul. It is one's true self (hence generally translated into English as 'Self') beyond identification with the phenomenal reality of worldly existence.

    breaking all the rules

    By heather | November 2, 2008

Although in the past I’ve both bemoaned and smothered Daylight Savings Time in sleepy kisses, this time around I have a sneaky plan to make it work for me.

Since I’m still exhibiting a tendency to be horrifyingly late to work EVERY DAY no matter what time I get up or who takes the kids to daycare my new plan is this:

Daylight Savings Time – you are dead to me.  You do not exist.  I shall not turn back my clock but instead continue to live life on my terms and we will call it SST – Sanity Saving Time.  So when the kids wake up at 7:30am SST, and the rest of the world has followed the rules and turned back the clock making it 6:30am DST I will then have a chance in hell of making it to work by 8am.

Did you get that?  Are you confused by what time it is?  Me too and that’s ok - the takeaway is that we are RULE BREAKERS over here.  When it suits us.

I think that’s a great idea. But you might be screwed in the springtime when DST is over, you know?

I read this at 5 am when the kids woke me up, but I’m only conscious enough to read it now.
