    The Atman or Atma (IAST: Ātmā, sanskrit: आत्म‍ ) is a philosophical term used within Hinduism and Vedanta to identify the soul. It is one's true self (hence generally translated into English as 'Self') beyond identification with the phenomenal reality of worldly existence.

    Brett:  The camera won’t focus.
    Me:  What do you mean it won’t focus?  What happened to it?
    Brett:  You dropped it the other day and now it won’t focus.  The pictures are fuzzy.
    Me: (Sigh…hmmmph) Give it to me, I’ll try to fix it.

    Exhibit A…

     Sometime later…

    Me:  I fixed the camera.
    Brett:  How?  What did you do?
    Me:  I played around and recalibrated the lenses, reinserted the memory card and now it’s fine.
    Brett:  I’m impressed.
    Me:  Oh, and I also wiped the greasy fingerprint off the lens.

    This is why people who made collages, watched commercials, and thus earned degrees in public relations also make excellent technical support specialists.
