• Atman

The Atman or Atma (IAST: Ātmā, sanskrit: आत्म‍ ) is a philosophical term used within Hinduism and Vedanta to identify the soul. It is one's true self (hence generally translated into English as 'Self') beyond identification with the phenomenal reality of worldly existence.

i resolve to not make resolutions

    By heather | January 3, 2010

How can I resist posting resolutions?  It’s that time of year!  So many ways to improve!

I was thinking as I read everyone else’s resolutions that it would make more sense to break it down so that I only have a few things I do every month, almost like a to-do list.  Otherwise, I’ll never remember, let alone do, any of these things.

    On to January!

    1. Do hot yoga twice a week.  In a pinch, I can substitute a video or watching a Yoga Today episode.  Teaching my own class doesn’t count.  I especially love hot yoga when it’s cold out so there are no excuses.
    2. Break down and store the baby swing.  Last time we started to break down the baby swing and store it I found out I was pregnant so we’re a little gun-shy to start dismantling the thing again.  Not that I’m pregnant, we just don’t want to trigger any karma.
    3. Move the box of photos up to the attic.  Exactly a year ago, my parents arrived to celebrate the holidays with us by depositing 4 boxes of crap, also known as memorabilia, in the living room.  I’ve made it through 3 of the boxes, which included my old cheerleading bloomers, a Color Me Badd cassette tape, and assorted drawings and cards from my childhood.  The last box has been sitting here for A YEAR NOW and contains about a million photos that I need to go through and sort.  Or I can just tape the box shut and move it to the attic.  We’ll see what happens come 31 Jan.
    4. Regular blogging.  If I can blog even twice a week that will be more in January than I did the entire summer.

That should keep me busy until February, you know combined with all the other stuff I have to do, like figure out my new MacBook and watch every episode of NCIS ever shown.  But just so I don’t forget while I’m feeling all motivated and stuff, other potential tasks for upcoming months include:

I’m assuming the Color Me Badd tape has their single “I Wanna Sex You Up” because that’s the only one I remember them singing… :)

Where/When do you plan on doing hot yoga? Can I go too??

Yeah I totally passed on resolutions this year. I looked over last year’s resolutions and thought “Yeah I did pretty good on those, I’ll just do some more of that.”
See, I’m delegating my resources… it’s not laziness.
